The 2025 NFL season is flying by, as we're already entering Week 13.

Of course, for fans of the Washington Commanders, this season probably can't end soon enough. The team is sitting at 3-8 on the season and all but eliminated from playoff contention after being decimated by injuries all year long.

Jayden Daniels is definitely the most important injury situation on the team. The passer has endured multiple injuries over the last calendar year, and his most recent injury has kept him out since the beginning of November. With the Commanders' struggles, there was some thinking that Daniels would be shut down for the season.

However, we received an update from Daniels himself earlier this week in which he said he's working to get back this season. Then, on Wednesday, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler provided an update on what he's hearing about Daniels.

"Jayden Daniels' status is week-to-week, and while he's likely out for the Denver game Monday night, Week 14 is a realistic possibility," Fowler explained. "Daniels wants to play again this season. If he's medically cleared next week, starting vs. the Vikings on Dec. 7 is at least on the table."

Daniels was seen at practice on Wednesday throwing, which is definitely a good sign. However, head coach Dan Quinn recently shared that Daniels has not yet been cleared for contact, so as Fowler mentioned, he likely won't play this weekend.

That Week 14 matchup seems reasonable, though, considering Daniels is back on the field.

"Shutting Daniels down has been a talking point the past few weeks, but that doesn't seem to be the team's plan at this point," said Fowler. "Daniels is a young player who could use reps, and the injury was to his non-throwing elbow, so it shouldn't affect his long-term outlook, assuming he gets the green light."

The team doesn't have to rush Daniels back at this point, but it would be nice for him to get some more reps before the season ends. The Commanders are set to face the Vikings in Week 14 and then will play NFC North foes in each of their final four contests.
