Spider-Man is back for a new adventure in a returning Marvel series. When it comes to Peter Parker, the hero is most commonly tied to live-action. After all, there have been three successful Spider-Man movie franchises. The Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the character will return next year, with Tom Holland leading Spider-Man: Brand New Day's cast.
However, Spider-Man also has a strong presence in animation. There have been multiple Spider-Man animated series over the years, with some more faithful to the comics, while others experimented more or were directly targeted at a specific audience. Before Spider-Man's next MCU movie, a different version of the hero has returned in animation to end 2025's Marvel offerings.
The New Season Of Marvel's Spider-Man Series Is Out Now
Spider-Man's return comes in the form of an animated series. Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends season 4 has arrived on Disney+ today, November 26. The new season of the Spider-Man series is the final Marvel release of the year, be it on Disney+ or elsewhere, as the MCU delayed its Wonder Man show to January 27, 2026.
The Marvel TV show focuses on a lead trio. Alongside Peter Parker is another Spider-Man, Miles Morales, and a super-powered version of Gwen Stacy, who goes by Ghost-Spider in the show. Spidey and His Amazing Friends features several heroes and villains from Marvel Comics. Characters like Captain America, Jeff the Land Shark, Iron Man, Green Goblin, and more appear in season 4.
The new season of the Spider-Man TV show has a theme centered on water, pirates, and so on. The official synopsis states that "Team Spidey receives water-themed powers and pirate suits." As one can tell from the animation and the show's story, the returning Spider-Man series on Disney+ is geared towards young audiences.
Why Fans Should Watch Marvel’s Spidey And His Amazing Friends Season 4
First, it is clear that this Spider-Man series is not for everyone. Marvel's Spidey and His Amazing Friends is not going to fill the void left by Tom Holland's Marvel hero for older audiences. They will have to wait for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, the Marvel show is perfect for parents who want to find something they can watch with their kids.
With several Marvel heroes and villains appearing in the show, Spidey and His Amazing Friends is a great way to introduce a new generation of fans to the Marvel Universe. The characters are charismatic, the animation is vibrant, and the story always keeps things fun with new themes each season. As such, the Spider-Man series is perfect for families.
