Try something different:
Show me the facts

Give me a lighthearted recap
Grand Theft Auto 6 is probably the most talked about game of the decade, with fans looking for every morsel of information they can possibly find before the game's eventual release next year. The hunt for insider leaks and new information has only been accelerated after the game received a second delay earlier this year, to a point where bad-faith actors have started creating fake AI footage from GTA 6 and presenting it as the real thing.
In a recent viral post on X, players were legitimately convinced that an actual gameplay leak was discovered, but the content is just a very convincing AI-created video. There are hundreds, if not thousands of fake AI gameplay clips from GTA 6, and while this one isn't much different than the others, it's a valuable lesson for players to be careful about what you believe when it comes to GTA 6 leaks.
GTA 6's Latest Gameplay Leak Is Another Hoax
While it would be awesome to receive some more GTA 6 leaked gameplay footage—especially after two delay announcements this year—the most recent viral clip is most definitely an AI-created hoax presented as if it were the real thing. The clip shows the main female protagonist in GTA 6, Lucia Caminos, as she walks down a sidewalk in the rain with NPCs running around in the background.
The clip has convinced many that it's authentic, largely because of the context provided in the post, which is all speculative and was later flagged by X users as being AI-generated and fake. These sort of GTA 6 hoax accounts have been proliferating on social media sites in recent months to capitalize on the hype surrounding GTA 6. The fake accounts understand how eager the fanbase is for new content, and are more than willing to lie or present false/misleading information for engagement.
It's Not The First GTA 6 Hoax, And Won't Be The Last
GTA 6 hoaxes and misinformation are not a new thing by any means, and it's likely only to get worse as the game's release draws nearer. Understanding verified sources and legitimate leaks can be a challenge in a time when AI-generated content is abundant and often presented as the real thing. It's becoming more important than ever to confirm the nature and context of a GTA 6 post before believing it and sharing/spreading it online.
GTA 6 leaks are among the most sought-after content on the internet, but actual leaks from legitimate sources are very rare. Ultimately, there's really no way to prevent fake Grand Theft Auto 6 videos from popping up, but it's very unlikely at this point that any footage from the game is going to come out that isn't from official sources.
