Nov. 26—Troy, Ala. — Fortuna Ngnawo scored a team-high 19 points and added 10 rebounds as Troy defeated Montana State 74-60 in women's basketball Monday.
Zay Dyer added 11 points and 15 rebounds on 5-for-7 shooting for the Trojans (5-1). Emani Jenkins tallied 14 points and Ashley Baez had 12.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementTaylee Chirrick led the Bobcats (4-1) with 21 points on 7 of 20 shooting, she added nine rebounds and four assists. Brianne Bailey was the only other Montana State player in double figures with 10 points.
The Trojans held Montana State to just 31.9% shooting from the field. The Bobcats were 6-for-33 from behind the arc.
Troy put up just 42 shots compared to Montana State's 72, but the Trojans knocked down 25 of them to go 59.5%.
Montana State had 18 steals and forced 31 turnovers from the Trojans.
Troy started hot with a 12-0 run in the first quarter to take a 16-5 lead, highlighted by a pair of triples from Jenkins.

After a 6-0 run made it 44-26 early in the third quarter Montana State battled back to cut the deficit to 57-56 with five minutes left, but the Bobcats made just one field goal down the stretch as Troy grew the lead back out to double digits and took the victory.
The Bobcats are back in action Sunday when they battle with Colorado in Boulder.
