Chelsea star takes a shot at Barcelona prodigy after 3-0 win – ‘He’s got him in his pocket’

Speaking to the media after his team’s 3-0 win over Barcelona, Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez did not hold back, as he took shots at the Blaugrana and their wonderkid, Lamine Yamal.

The Blues secured a largely comfortable 3-0 win on Tuesday night, with goals coming from Estevao Willian and Liam Delap after a Jules Kounde own-goal.

Barcelona were thoroughly outplayed at Stamford Bridge, with things only getting harder for Hansi Flick & co. after Ronald Araujo’s red card late in the first half.

Sanchez aims a dig

One of the biggest talking points leading up to the game was the battle on the flank between Barcelona attacking star Lamine Yamal and Chelsea full-back Marc Cucurella.

And, it is safe to say that the former La Masia player prevailed over the current crown jewel of the Barcelona academy, something that Sanchez reminded everyone after the game with a pointed remark.

“He’s [Cucurella] got him [Lamine] in his pocket,” said Sanchez, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

The goalkeeper’s second comment also appeared directed at the Barcelona youngster, with whom he has shared a dressing room in the Spanish national team.

“Everyone is very good until they come to the Premier League,” the Spaniard said.

Cucurella did a good job of keeping Lamine quiet at Stamford Bridge last night, while he also offered an attacking outlet down the left flank for Chelsea, emerging as the MVP of the match.

Meanwhile, when asked whether Barcelona had been the favourites in the Champions League, Sanchez replied with a smile, saying: “Barça favourites? We’re favourites.”

Sanchez’s clean sheet on Tuesday night meant that Barcelona saw their 53-game scoring streak in all competitions come to a grinding halt.
