Following his work on The Beatles: Get Back, Peter Jackson’s company, WingNut Films, has resurrected more footage of the Fab Four in the remastered The Beatles Anthology.
The documentary series, which originally aired in 1995, covers all the key turning points of the band’s career; from their origins in Liverpool, the rise of Beatlemania, their arrival in the USA, their spiritual exploration in India, to their eventual breakup in 1970.

This new version of The Beatles Anthology has been remastered and expanded for Disney+. The restoration has been overseen by Apple Corps production team, alongside Peter Jackson’s WingNut films and Giles Martin, son of legendary Beatles producer George Martin, who has created new audio mixes for most of the music.
The reworked Beatles Anthology was released on Disney+ on November 26, 2025.
What’s new in The Beatles Anthology on Disney+?
While the original series spanned eight episodes in total, this new version adds an additional ninth episode featuring unseen footage.
This new behind-the-scenes footage shows Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr coming together between 1994 and 1995 to work on The Anthology collection, which spans the TV documentary, a set of double albums, and a book released in 2000. The three Beatles members also reflect on their shared life as part of the band.
What other Beatles films and shows are available on Disney+?
RecommendedAlong with The Beatles Anthology, there is a wealth of Beatles shows and films on the streaming service. The most celebrated is The Beatles: Get Back, a three-part documentary which covers the making of the band’s 1970 album ‘Let It Be’. Additionally, the 1970 film Let It Be, directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, is also available.
Elsewhere, there’s the Martin Scorsese-produced series Beatles ‘64, which covers the band’s arrival in the US. The 2022 film If These Walls Could Sing charts the history of Abbey Road Studios, while McCartney 3,2,1 covers Paul’s career in the Beatles and as a solo artist.
For something a little different, 2009’s Nowhere Boy is available on Disney+ too, a biographical drama about the teenage years of John Lennon.
