A Chelsea player is now boldly claiming that his side are now the favourites to win the Champions League this season.

It’s a brave prediction for sure, and perhaps not one that his manager will agree with. Enzo Maresca prefers to play things like this down and will not pile this pressure on his team at this stage. But maybe there will be a few more people now agreeing that Chelsea do have a decent chance of winning the Champions League after they thrashed Barcelona 3-0 at Stamford Bridge last night?

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea now being ‘aggressive and bold’ in attempts to convince Arsenal star to join them!

Even striker Liam Delap, who had been under some pressure after his last few games, got on the scoresheet last night to put The Blues 3-0 up.

This came after another Estevao Willian masterclass and a superb finish to put Chelsea 2-0 up soon after half time and the red card happened.

It was an incredible game and a huge win for Chelsea and to be honest, the Blues players just wanted it much more than Barcelona did and they showed more desire and more intent all game from the moment it started until the final whistle.

Chelsea now favourites?

That is what goalkeeper Robert Sanchez thinks. The Blues stopper was able to sit in his deck chair all night and have a very quiet game indeed. Barcelona offered zero threat to him really other than some early moments in the game.

Sanchez was quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying after the game:

“Barça among the favourites to win the Champions League? No, I see us as favourites.”

Can’t argue really

If Barcelona are one of the favourites, and Chelsea just beat them easily, I guess it’s hard to argue that Chelsea must also now be one of the favourites, right!?
