Syracuse men’s basketball: Orange to conclude Players Era versus No. 15 Iowa State

The Syracuse Orange will officially cap off its time at the 2025 Players Era Festival by taking on another top program from the Big 12.

Late on Tuesday (or Wednesday morning for those of you on the East Coast), the tournament announced Syracuse will be matching up versus No. 15 Iowa State. The news came with several Players Era games still going on.

Tip-off between the Orange and Cyclones is set for 1 p.m. EST at MGM Grand Garden Arena. Fans can watch the game live on TNT.

Syracuse is currently 0-2 in Players Era with a four-point loss in overtime versus No. 3 Houston followed by an 11-point defeat to Kansas.

This will be the Orange’s third-straight matchup versus a Big 12 team and also its third chance at beating a Quad 1 opponent. Looking ahead, Syracuse will also soon face off against No. 17 Tennessee on Tuesday, meaning its non-conference schedule will have four total Q1 opponents (all in a row) as things stand right now.

As for Iowa State, it has won both of its games in the tournament so far. That includes a narrow one-point win over No. 14 St. John’s and an 18-point victory over Creighton.

The Players Era Men’s Championship will be between Gonzaga and Michigan.
