LAS VEGAS, Nevada, Nov. 25 — The No. 7/SN No. 9 Bishop Gorman [Las Vegas, NV] Gaels have so thoroughly dominated the Nevada prep football ranks that Nevada administrators continue to search for an answer to what has become known as the "Bishop Gorman problem."
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIn the meantime, the Arbor View [Las Vegas, NV] Aggies are the unfortunate program tasked with solving that problem Tuesday night as they meet the Gaels in Nevada's NIAA Open Division state championship game. Arbor View enters the game 9-2 with an eight-game winning streak, and they haven't likely forgotten the beating they took last year from the Gaels in this game, coming up on the short end of a 69-7 rout.
The only Nevada team to beat Bishop Gorman since 2008 is the Liberty [Henderson, NV] Patriots who beat the Gaels in the biggest upset in Silver State history in 2019. That win also came in the state title game in a 30-24 overtime stunner.
Prior to that, you have to go back to the 2008 finale when the Gaels were blown out, 50-14, by the Palo Verde [Las Vegas, NV] Panthers.
