Mo Bamba's high-profile basketball career turned out so disappointing that his name is now known more for a song than for his hooping.

He's with the Salt Lake City Stars in the G League, suiting up for the affiliate of the Utah Jazz.
The 7-foot Bamba has played six games with Salt Lake City right now. He is averaging 16.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.
Bamba was originally the No. 6 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Texas by the Magic.
Bamba spent his first four-and-a-half seasons with Orlando. He averaged 7.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game with the Magic.
After that, Bamba suited up for the Lakers, 76ers, Clippers and Pelicans.

Bamba hasn't yet suited up in the NBA in the 2025-26 season. He's trying to prove himself in the G League.
He's still only 27 years old, so there are likely more NBA minutes in Bamba's future. For now, he's doing what he can a rung down the basketball ladder to keep his career hanging on.
