Two years ago, the Green Bay Packers sparked to life their unexpected run to the postseason with a 29-22 win on Thanksgiving Day over the Detroit Lions -- who were wearing their throwback uniforms for the holiday -- at Ford Field.
Thursday's Thanksgiving rematch will look similar, at least in terms of the uniforms.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Lions announced they will be wearing their throwback uniforms against the Packers on Thursday.
"Bringing back the Classics for Thanksgiving," the Lions' official Twitter account posted on Monday.
The look features a silver helmet with no logo, the team's classic blue jerseys with silver numbers and silver pants. The Lions haven't worn the throwback uniform since losing to the Packers on Thanksgiving Day in 2023.
As was the case two years ago, the Packers will be expected to counter the Lions throwback look with their traditional road uniforms -- gold helmets, white jerseys and gold pants. This season, the Packers have worn all white socks with the away uniform. Because of various uniform matchups, the Packers haven't worn their traditional road uniform since Week 7 in Arizona.
