STILLWATER, Oklahoma (KMID/KPEJ) – Eric Morris, the current head coach at the University of North Texas, is being named as the 25th head football coach at Oklahoma State. Morris, a Shallowater native, played for Texas Tech from 2005 to 2008 as a wide receiver and began his coaching career as a graduate assistant in 2010. Morris is best known for being a quarterback whisperer. He has coached, developed, or recruited Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield, John Mateer, Cam Ward, Chandler Morris, Drew Mestemaker, and more.
Before Morris heads to Stillwater, he looks to lead North Texas in the regular season finale against Temple. With a win, the Mean Green would punch their ticket to the American Athletic Conference Championship and a possible trip to the College Football Playoff.
