NORMAN — Fresh off its ninth win of the season over Missouri, OU football was ranked No. 8 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings.
If the season ended Tuesday, the Sooners would be the No. 8 seed and hosting No. 9-seeded Notre Dame at Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in the first round. The winner would play No. 1-seeded Ohio State.

If OU takes care of business at home against LSU at 2:30 p.m. Saturday on ABC, the Sooners will almost assuredly make the playoff for the first time since 2019.
OU's two losses were to No. 7 Ole Miss and No. 16 Texas. OU's best wins are over No. 10 Alabama on the road, No. 15 Michigan at home and No. 19 Tennessee on the road.
