Texas A&M isn’t hiding its motivation ahead of Friday night’s renewed Showdown.

One year after Texas players danced on the Kyle Field logo following their 17-7 win, the No. 3 Aggies insist they have not forgotten.

Texas A&M offensive lineman Ar’maj Reed-Adams kept it real when asked Tuesday about emotions from last season’s postgame scene. “A few things, but we’ll get it handled,” he said, via GigEm247. “Yeah, you know, cowards do what cowards do.”

Texas coach Steve Sarkisian intervened to stop the midfield celebration last year, but the moment sparked anger inside the A&M locker room.

Now, as the Aggies arrive in Austin unbeaten at 11-0 and still chasing a College Football Playoff berth, the stakes are as high as they’ve been since the series resumed.

No. 17 Texas comes in at 8-3 and has won four of the last five meetings and holds a 77-37-5 lead in the all-time series dating back to 1894.

The Lone Star State rivalry will return to the national spotlight. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
