Solo Leveling's universe extends far beyond the world of the anime series, and that's becoming clearer than ever thanks to the hit mobile game Solo Leveling: ARISE. The game expands on the franchise's cast by giving minor characters time to shine, and the game's newest hunter is a perfect example.
Solo Leveling: ARISE's next playable character is Laura Walker, the secretary of the Savenger Guild and Thomas Andre.
In a YouTube video released to promote Laura's upcoming appearance as a playable hunter, her skills with light and a whip are shown off in stunning fashion, confirming why she's a unique and interesting choice to join the game's list of playable hunters.
Laura Walker Can Help Explore An Underexplored Part Of Solo Leveling's World
Though many fans might not recognize her, Laura does appear both in Solo Leveling's manhwa and in its anime adaptation. There, she doesn't really get a ton to do aside from inform Andre of Jinwoo's latest happenings.
While it doesn't appear like fans were demanding more characterization for Laura, her addition to ARISE is a great opportunity to explore the Scavenger Guild.
Thomas Andre is set to become a much more prominent character in the upcoming Solo Leveling season 3, giving the anime an opportunity to explore the Scavengers more than its anime counterpart ever did.
ARISE is a great showcase for just how much potential the guild has to add texture to Solo Leveling's world.
Laura Walker's ARISE Debut Is Proof The Solo Leveling Anime Needs To Expand Her Role
Solo Leveling Arise's Laura Walker holding a whip as light sparkles around her.
It appears, based on information released by ARISE, that the version of Laura Walker featured in the game will be one from an alternate reality who experienced her Awakening, meaning her abilities aren't necessarily analogous to those of the mainline Laura.
However, what ARISE shows is interesting, as it confirms that Laura has the potential to be an S-Ranked Hunter if she ever did awaken.
This factoid alone raises so many questions about Laura and her role in the Scavenger Guild.
Unfortunately, the Scavenger guild falls victim to Solo Leveling's supporting cast problem.
Thomas Andre and Hwang Dongsoo are pretty much the only members of America's strongest guild who get any sort of exploration or depth. While nobody is asking for the Scavenger Guild to get a starring role in Solo Leveling, it feels strange that such a powerful group only has three or four named members.
Lucky for fans, Solo Leveling's anime has been keen on expanding the series' characters outside Jinwoo himself. While it's unlikely that Laura herself will become an important character, she and the Scavenger Guild may get bigger roles in Solo Leveling season 3.
