Give me a lighthearted recap
After a disappointing update back in October, Jeremy Allen White has finally confirmed when the next season of The Bear will begin shooting. During a sit-down to chat about his new Bruce Springsteen biopic, White was asked if he could share when The Bear Season 5 begins filming. “January 5 or something like that,” he said. “Very soon.” This is good news for fans of The Bear, because it means the show will likely be able to hit a 2026 release window. With filming kicking off in January, the show could easily return to Hulu by the summer.
The Bear first premiered in 2022, and the show has released a new season each year since its debut on Hulu. Although it’s Jeremy Allen White and his co-stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Fantastic Four: First Steps) and Ayo Edebiri (Opus), the Emmy-winning series has seen plenty of stars come and go through four seasons. Big names like Jon Bernthal, Bob Odenkirk, and Jamie Lee Curtis have been seen in multiple episodes, and Bernthal even took home an Emmy win for his strong guest performance in the series. The Bear was written and created for TV by Christopher Storer, who works with a talented team of writers to bring the series to life.
The Bear star Jeremy Allen White first made a name for himself starring as Lip Gallagher in Shameless, but he’s since become one of the biggest stars in the world. In addition to his role as Carmy in The Bear, White also recently teamed up with Zac Efron and Harris Dickinson for The Iron Claw, the heartbreaking A24 biopic that’s currently streaming on Prime Video.
Jeremy Allen White’s Biggest Movie Yet Comes Out Next Year
Next year, Jeremy Allen White will star opposite Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver in The Mandalorian & Grogu, which will be released in theaters on May 22, 2026. The film is a direct continuation of the first three seasons of The Mandalorian, which are all streaming on Disney+. White has also been tapped to star opposite Jeremy Strong and Oscar-winner Mikey Madison in The Social Reckoning, the sequel to The Social Network. White will reportedly play Jeff Horowitz, the former journalist-turned-environmental activist. The film will be released in theaters on October 9, 2026.
Stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of The Bear Season 5 and watch the first four seasons on Hulu or Disney+.
