Harlan Coben’s new British crime thriller featuring a Lord of the Rings icon just got an exciting update ahead of its January release. Netflix has officially released the first images for Coben’s new thriller miniseries, Run Away, which is set for release on January 1. Prominently featured in the new images is leading star James Nesbitt, who previously worked with Coben on Missing You and Stay Close. Nesbitt is also famous for his role as Bofur in all three Hobbit movies. The eight new images from Run Away can be found below, along with more information on the upcoming series.
Coben provided a statement on the release of Run Away, saying, “Run Away is about family — about what we will do to keep our family intact, what secrets we keep within our family, and what secrets we keep as a family. Every time you walk past the house, there’s a whole universe that goes on behind that door, and none of us have a clue what it is.” The series follows Simon (Nesbitt), a man whose life begins to crumble around him when his daughter runs away. Secrets come up on Simon’s journey to save Paige, but violence threatens to end his family for good.
In addition to James Nesbitt as Simon Greene, Run Away also stars Ruth Jones as Elena Ravenscroft, Minnie Driver as Ingrid Greene, Alfred Enoch as Isaac Fagbenle, Lucian Msamati as Cornelius Faber, Jon Pointing as Ash, Ellie de Lange as Paige Greene, Adrian Greensmith as Sam Greene, Ellie Henry as Anya Greene, Tracy-Ann Oberman as Jessica Kinberg, Annette Badland as Lou, Ingrid Oliver as Yvonne, Maeva Courtier-Lilley as Dee Dee, Finty Williams as Enid Corval, Joe McGann as Wiley Corval, and Amy Gledhill as Ruby Todd.
Harlan Coben’s New Series Is a Hit on Prime Video
The most recent of Coben’s works to be turned into a series is Lazarus, which debuted last month on October 22 on Prime Video. Starring Sam Claflin and Bill Nighy, Lazarus follows a man who begins having disturbing experiences following the loss of someone close to him. The show immediately rose to the top of Prime Video streaming charts upon its premiere, and more than a month later, it’s still in the top 10 in several countries around the world.
Check out the first images from Run Away above and be sure to stream the series on Netflix following its January 1 premiere.
