Finn Wolfhard's next project after Stranger Things has been revealed, confirming the actor's new starring role after the Netflix series' curtain call. Wolfhard will be wrapping up his time as Mike Wheeler on the cast of Stranger Things during season 5, marking the end of an era for his career. However, he already has his next project lined up.

According to Deadline, Wolfhard's next role after Stranger Things will be in the stunt comedy film Crash Land, where he'll be starring opposite Gabriel LaBelle. The movie will mark writer and director Dempsey Bryk's first feature film. It follows a group of amateur stunten in a small town filming stunts described as similar to the comedy stunt series Jackass.

The story of the movie originated from an idea between Bryk and collaborator Ben Snider-McGrath. In addition to Wolfhard and LaBelle's lead roles, Crash Land will also star Abby Quinn, Billy Bryk, and Noah Parker. Billy Bryk and Wolfhard previously co-wrote, co-directed, and starred in the horror comedy Hell of a Summer, produced under the pair's Kid Brother Productions.

The duo and Dempsey Bryk, Billy's brother, will serve as producers on Crash Land, alongside Julian Geneen. Zapruder Films’ Matthew Miller executive produces, alongside Matt Johnson, Charles Cohen, and LaBelle, as well as Jasmin Kar, Sam Sutcliffe, and Dias Tobizarov from Ursa Major Entertainment. Ursa Major co-finances the film with Elevation Pictures and Redlab.

Dempsey Bryk is best known for his work in front of the camera, such as playing Ebon in We Were Liars and Cal in the Black Mirror season 4 episode "Arkangel." His collaboration with Wolfhard and Billy Bryk will be a first for the trio. The movie also promises to be a far cry from the sci-fi horrors of Stranger Things.

Described as a darkly funny coming-of-age story, Crash Land seems like it'll be a strong stepping stone for the actor to keep marching forward now that Stranger Things is over. Whether it'll measure up to some of Wolfhard's best roles remains unclear. But, working with the Bryk brothers and LaBelle, the film has plenty of potential as a memorable comedy.

More revelations about Crash Land will likely become available as its production continues. Even with limited information, it's clear Wolfhard has a strong direction for his career path after Stranger Things wraps up. With Kid Brother Productions under his belt and a new comedy role, it seems like he'll be in plenty of places after the Netflix show ends.
