Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane said on Tuesday he is "open" to renewing his contract at the Bundesliga champions who plan to start talks on the issue early next year.

The statements came amid speculation that the England captain could be tempted away from Munich, with Spanish champions Barcelona said to be interested.

But Kane said upon his return to London for Bayern's Champions League table topper against Arsenal: "I'm open to staying at Bayern longer. We're one of the best teams in Europe. There is no other team I want to play for. I still have 18 months left on my contract. I'm happy here."

"This move was one of the best decisions of my life. I've enjoyed every moment: the new league, the European nights, the Bundesliga, the different cultures. It's helped me develop and improve."

Kane, 32, came to Bayern in 2023 for around €100 million ($115 million) on a contract until 2027. He won the Bundesliga title with them last year and was league top scorer in both previous seasons.

Kane tops the Bundesliga scorers' charts again this term and has scored 109 goals in 114 Bayern matches overall, and Eberl said he deserved to "play a role" at the upcoming FIFA Best awards.

Kane reportedly has a €65 million release clause in his contract for the summer of 2026 which added to the speculation on his future.

Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said on Tuesday before the team's departure for London that "we have a clear road map with Harry, we said that we will sit down together at the beginning of the year.

"I think that Harry shows in every match how good he feels, how good his family feels in Munich. I believe he is in the form of his life."

Bayern president Herbert Hainer told Tuesday's Bild paper he does not believe Kane will leave next summer.

"I firmly believe that he really likes it in Munich and is happy. We will talk. He will make it dependent on his plans for the future. But I am convinced Bayern have a very, very good chance," Hainer said.

Kane told Bild he hasn't been in contact with anybody, amid rumours he could succeed Robert Lewandowski, also formerly of Bayern, at Barca.

"I feel very good at the moment even though we haven't talked with Bayern yet about my situation," he said.

"There is no rush. I am really happy in Munich. You can see it in the way I am playing. We will see when there is contact. But I am not thinking about the new season yet."
