The relationship between Cooper (Jacob Lofland) and Ariana (Paulina Chavez) in Landman is certainly a controversial one, and the pair of stars just broke their silence on the shocking Season 2, Episode 2 revelation. The second episode in Season 2 of Taylor Sheridan's hit series saw Ariana kick Cooper out of the house and proclaim that she doesn’t want to see him anymore — this came after she admitted that it wasn’t her dream to be rich like it was his. Both Lofland and Chavez recently sat down for an interview with Screen Rant, where they were asked about how Cooper and Ariana’s relationship will handle this turmoil going forward.

When asked where Cooper and Ariana stand after their alleged split in Landman Season 2, Episode 2, Chavez says, “Where are we? I mean, we’re learning the ropes. Relationships are hard,” she said. Continuing, she admits, “There are a lot of conversations that need to be had, and like every relationship, it has its ups and downs, but their connection is very strong, so me as a viewer, I’m rooting for them.” Ariana’s Paulina Chavez isn’t giving up on their relationship, but does Cooper’s Jacob Lofland share the same sentiment?

“Yeah, I mean it’s a continuation, so we’re just working through it and still figuring everything out. It’s still new and it’ll continue to throw its roadblocks in the way, and we’re figuring out other pieces of life and aspects of life at the same time. So it’s a lot for the characters to build on or understand,” Lofland said. It sounds like Cooper isn’t quite as optimistic that the two are going to work things out in the end.

Who Is Cooper’s New Partner in ‘Landman’ Season 2?

Landman Season 2, Episode 2 also revealed that Gallino, portrayed by the legendary Andy Garcia, is Cooper’s new silent partner in his oil endeavors. Only Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) knows how bad this is for Cooper. Gallino saved Tommy from the dangerous clutches of cartel gunmen in Landman Season 1, but this only proves how much of a threat he truly is. If Cami (Demi Moore) fails to deliver profits on her side, she deals with lawyers and businesspeople. If Cooper fails to deliver on his end of the deal, he’ll deal with someone much worse who will certainly skip the mediation stage and go straight to violence.
