Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall has reportedly signed another contract to stay on the show.
The actor, who is 43, has played the role of Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap since 1998.
The character is currently married to Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) and is father to children Hope, Ruby and Dorin.
Tyrone will continue to face more classic Weatherfield drama in 2026, as actor Alan has allegedly signed another contract for the show. This means he will film as Tyrone for at least another year, which also happens to be his 28th anniversary on the soap.
‘Alan was thrilled to sign his contract earlier this year’, a source said.
‘He’s made Tyrone into a cobbles classic so bosses are delighted he’s agreed to stay for at least another year’.

They added to The Sun: ‘There are big things coming up for the soap and Tyrone in the coming year’.
Metro has contacted Coronation Street for a comment.
Tyrone’s life changed forever earlier this year, when he was hit by a car that was being driven by Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne).
He broke two vertebrae in the incident and needed emergency surgery to deal with a blood clot that was pressing on his spine.
On waking up, he realised that he didn’t have much feeling in his legs, and was told that his recovery would be very slow.

Now home, Tyrone is getting used to life in a wheelchair. While his family all promised to help, in practice the work of helping Tyrone with everyday tasks has fallen to Fiz.

‘I think Tyrone obviously knows that a lot of the pressure will fall on Fiz – the kids, work, the house. He’s aware of that, and I don’t think he wants to add his stress onto her shoulders,’ Alan Halsall said.
Amid this story, Alan and Jennie McAlpine recently met with Manchester Arena bomb survivor Martin Hibbert and his wife Gabby to discuss their real life experience of spinal injury and how it affects the friends and family of the person.
Jennie said, ‘For Fiz trying to juggle family life and caring for Tyrone is really difficult. It was invaluable for us to meet them both and hear Gabby’s side of their story. For them their lives changed in an instant in so many ways and that is what Fiz is having to deal with whilst looking after Tyrone.’
