SAINT CLOUD — St. Cloud's athlete between the posts has been picked as the athlete of the week.
Nolan Lund, senior goalkeeper for the St. Cloud Crush (3-1), won nearly 80% of the vote in the first winter St. Cloud Times athlete of the week poll. The Crush beat Bemidji 4-0 in its first game of the year, with Lund saving 22 of 22 shots. The Crush opened the season Nov. 22 at the Municipal Athletic Complex, blanking Bemidji (2-2).

The Lumberjacks beat St. Cloud in two games last season, but this year's opener is the only scheduled matchup in 2025-26. Since the game, the Crush lost to Sartell-St. Stephen (2-0-1), but won back-to-back games against Mounds View (0-3) and Fergus Falls (1-2). Throughout, Lund has managed a save percentage above .880. The Crush's next game is at 7 p.m. in Alexandria. The Cardinals (2-1) beat St. Cloud Cathedral (1-4) on Tuesday by a score of 4-0.

In her varsity debut, the sophomore had 10 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double in the 71-62 win against Litchfield. Senior teammate Sophia Hennen took third place with 4.8% of the vote behind Labines' 12.9%.
