Today, Shams Charania announced what many had seen coming for the past week. He reiterated the fact that Giannis Antetokounmpo is unhappy currently in Milwaukee and would like out.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIf you’ve been following closely, this isn’t a shock. Giannis technically requested a trade this past summer, but on the contingency that he would ride it out until things got bad. With the Bucks at 9-13 and the 11th seed in the East, I’d say it’s bad.
With talks of Giannis being traded, obviously, the two biggest names surrounding him got attention in the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks.

The Bucks are currently playing the 1-seeded Detroit Pistons and getting the brakes beat off of them, but it may have just gotten worse. In the first quarter, Giannis went down in the worst way.

After driving baseline and dishing the ball for an AJ Green layup, Antetokounmpo suddenly hit the deck.
He didn’t just go down; he grabbed one of the scariest spots a pro athlete can grab right after an injury. Right at the base of his calf and the top of his Achilles tendon.
The Bucks have no official word at the moment, and it’s being described as a lower leg injury. Hopefully for both Giannis and Milwaukee, it’s something very, very minor; if it’s not, what a massive blow it would be to both parties, seemingly right on the cusp of a massive trade.
