The next “Godzilla x Kong” film is called “Godzilla x Kong: Supernova,” as confirmed in a teaser video released on the official Warner Bros. YouTube channel on May 9, 2025.

The previous film in the series, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” is the highest-grossing film in the Monsterverse franchise. It grossed $571.9 million against a budget between $135–150 million after releasing on March 29, 2024,

“Godzilla x Kong: Supernova” is directed by Grant Sputore. The Australian filmmaker made his directorial debut with the 2019 sci-fi thriller film “I Am Mother” and is taking over from Adam Wingard.

The story for “Godzilla x Kong: Supernova” has not yet been revealed. However, the last film’s director has shared his vision for where it might go.

"I definitely have some ideas of where they could go," Wingard says. "In the way that Kong is treated in this movie, if this movie is successful, I think that the next movie will be the Godzilla version of what we did with this movie, kind of pushing deeper into his story.”

Announced January 24, 2025, Kaitlyn Dever was the first actress to be cast in the film. She plays a new character alongside Jack O’Connell and Delroy Lindo.
