Glenn ErbyWed, December 3, 2025 at 8:14 PM UTC·1 min readPhiladelphia will head West on Monday night, and its opponent could be without one of the NFL's top quarterbacks. Chargers star quarterback Justin Herbert fractured his left hand on Sunday in the 31-14 win over the Raiders. The star quarterback had surgery on Monday and sat out Wednesday's session, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Herbert threw two touchdown passes while playing through the injury to his non-throwing hand. Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey had touchdown catches, and Kimani Vidal rushed for a career-high 126 yards for the Chargers (8-4), who recovered from an embarrassing loss at Jacksonville for their fourth win in five games to stay within striking distance of the Denver Broncos atop the AFC West.
On Sunday after the game, Herbert said he's proceeding as if he'll be the starter on Monday night.
Herbert finished 15 of 20 for 151 yards and has 2,842 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions on the season. After allowing almost three hundred yards rushing to the Bears, Herbert's strong passing arm is the least of Philadelphia's concerns.
