Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning expressed his loyalty to his current team amid job openings across college football.
Heading into rivalry week, LSU, Florida, Auburn, and Penn State are all looking for a new head coach. All of these programs possess a good deal of resources and cachet, along with the ambition to become perennial playoff contenders.

Lanning, however, is the face of the Ducks, and he has garnered a good deal of loyalty within the program and fanbase.
He came over as the defensive coordinator of the Georgia Bulldogs, experiencing the SEC and its quirks which could make him a potential candidate for a major program like LSU, in theory.
...Amid the coaching circus and rumor mill, Lanning made it clear that loyalty is a two-way street and he is entirely committed to Oregon.
“I guess ultimately people realize at this point that I’m not interested in being anywhere else, like I’ve said for a long time,” Lanning said following a signature win against Oregon's rival USC.
“As long as I win, I get the opportunity to be here. That’s on me, right? So, this is where I’ll be as long as I do that. My situation’s so good that I feel really comfortable saying that.
“I love this place, and more than that, I love the commitment that they’ve given to me. Somebody gave me this opportunity. Not everybody gets that. I can’t speak for anybody else’s situation when it comes to that. So, probably tells you how special Oregon is.
"And certainly, how special I feel getting to be here and getting to coach here. What a privilege that is for me. That’s something I’ll never take for granted, and I want to be able to see it through.”

Lanning's situation is the polar opposite of what is happening at Ole Miss, where uncertainty completely clouded a period of unprecedented success that would originally have been celebrated.
Florida and LSU are courting Lane Kiffin, while his current team is offering him a contract extension. The coach's handling of the situation and his opening himself up to these teams have led to rumors that someone else will coach Ole Miss during the playoffs.
It is somewhat of a circus in Mississippi, though in Egune, all boats are pointed in the same direction.
