Here is a fact-based summary of the story contents:
Try something different:
Show me the facts
Explain it like I’m 5
Give me a lighthearted recap
Soon after YouTube Music and Apple Music rolled out their respective year-end recaps, it's time for the music streaming company that popularized the year-end recap formula to take the lead.
Stockholm, Sweden-based Spotify started rolling out its Wrapped earlier today, and it is already taking the world by storm.
Spotify's 2025 Wrapped is available to both free and Premium users. Open the app on Android or iOS, and you should see the Wrapped feed at the very top of the app's home screen.
Looking significantly different this time around, 2025's Wrapped "is more captivating, layered, and revealing than ever before." Yes, Spotify kept all the classic criteria, including minutes listened, top songs, top artists, top genres, and all the good stuff, but there's also a lot that's new.
- Listening Age: This story compares your musical tastes to others’ in your age group, looking at the release years of the tracks you listen to most.
- Top Song Quiz: Guess which track soundtracked your year in this interactive quiz.
- Top Albums: For the first time, we’re spotlighting the albums you returned to again and again.
- Top Audiobook Genre: This story highlights your top audiobook genre and the book you listened to most from that genre.'
- Clubs, fan leaderboards, listening archives, and a lot more.
New social layers added
There's also a new mobile-only 'Wrapped Party' experience, which essentially turns your year-end music data into a competitive game. With Wrapped Party, you can compare your year-end data with up to nine other friends. The section lets you see who streamed the most minutes, who discovered the rarest music, who discovered the most new artists, and more. Additionally, within the party, it lets you find out who you're most and least musically compatible with.
The new feature doesn't necessarily make the Wrapped experience, but it sure does add a neat social layer to it. You can find more information about Wrapped Party here.
Lastly, similar to YouTube's new video-based year-end recap, Spotify, too, is assigning users to different 'clubs.' Division into clubs is solely based on your music-listening history. "Your Club captures the emotional qualities of your year in music. That includes the moods, genres, and musical terms that defined what you listened to most," wrote the streaming giant, adding that there are a total of six clubs.
- Cloud State Society: Your club finds peace through music.
- Grit Collective: Your club believes in rebellion through music.
- Club Serotonin: Your club thrives on good vibes.
- Full Charge Crew: Your club is committed to the endless party.
- Cosmic Stereo Club: Your club traverses terrestrial barriers with music.
- Soft Hearts Club: Your club believes that vulnerability is the key to great music.
