Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that gives players access to a huge library of games for a monthly fee. In September, Microsoft confirmed it was changing Game Pass to offer players “more flexibility, choice and value” but at a drastically increased price.

The reworked Ultimate tier costs £29.99 a month but gives players access to Day One releases and Fortnite Crew membership while Premium is £14.99 a month and offers gamers a library of more than 200 titles. The cheapest Essential tier gives subscribers access to a curated library of 50 games for £9.99 a month.

Last month, 18 titles were added to Xbox Game Pass across two waves and now Microsoft has confirmed what subscribers can look forward to in the first half of December.

Defending the Xbox Game Pass price hike, Microsoft’s Director of Gaming and Platform Communications Dustin Blackwell said: “We understand price increases are never fun for anybody, but we’re trying to reinforce by adding more value to these plans as well,” he explained. “It’s something we don’t take lightly, and we’re listening to the feedback of players and the community to try to provide them with more of what they’re asking for.”

In other news, side-scrolling 2D beat ‘em up Marvel: Cosmic Invasion has been praised by fans after it was released earlier this week.
