Samuel Nibombe (18) suffered a heart attack on the pitch during AS Monaco’s Challenge Éspoirs youth match against Stade Rennais back in May.
However, he has made a swift return. In mid-November, the Belgian defender took part in a Monaco U19s match, and he has now returned to first-team training. Prior to his heart attack, Nibombe was a regular for the club’s Groupe Élite but he has yet to make his debut for the senior side.

He was present alongside another academy player, Oumar Konaté (18), who has played in this season’s UEFA Youth League.
However, there were two important absences: Folarin Balogun and Ansu Fati. The former came off with a suspected muscle injury against Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday. Eric Dier is still absent, whilst Christian Mawissa continues to train separately as he builds his fitness.
