Hannah Forshaw is set to step down as CEO of Everton Women at the end of the season.

Forshaw was appointed to the position in May this year and officially began work on September 1, ahead of the 2025-26 Women’s Super League (WSL) campaign.

However, Forshaw and the club have reached a decision that the former Liverpool vice president of operations will step away from the role once the season ends, according to people briefed on the matter, who wished to remain anonymous to protect relationships.

Forshaw’s exit is amicable, sources say, with both parties agreeing that the vision of the role and its overall long-term direction varied.

Everton are set to undergo a review regarding what the leadership structure on the women’s side looks like, whether a CEO will sit above the structure or if a managing director will take charge.

Forshaw, who joined Everton after serving two years as chief operating officer at The Jockey Club, was one of many new leadership appointments made by new owners The Friedkin Group (TFG) since its takeover in December 2024 and was seen as key in the ownership’s desire to evolve the women’s set-up.

She will work with the club until the end of the season to ensure a smooth transition for new leadership.

A primary responsibility in Forshaw’s first weeks in the position was managing the senior women’s team’s full-time transition into Goodison Park, following the men’s team’s move to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

In July, Everton sold their women’s team to the parent company which owns the club, Roundhouse Capital Holdings, allowing it to act as a standalone entity and attract minority investment.

Everton currently sit 10th in the WSL with just one win and two draws from their first nine matches.
