McDonald's is launching a special, limited-edition Disney-themed Happy Meal featuring a line of collectible toys, starting next week in the U.S., to celebrate Disneyland Resort’s 70th anniversary.
Why it Matters
Disneyland Resort celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. With 13,711 locations across the U.S., McDonald’s remains one of America’s largest fast-food chains. Its partnership with Disneyland® Resort introduces one of the biggest collectible Happy Meal® toy lines ever, which will engage both Disney enthusiasts and collectors.
What To Know
...Starting December 2, McDonald’s locations across the United States will offer the limited-time Disneyland® Resort 70th Celebration Happy Meal. Each of these Happy Meals will include two Disney-themed toys.
There are 70 toys (to celebrate the 70 years) in the collection (organized into 35 pairings), featuring characters from across the Disney universe—including Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars—making the promotion one of the largest character toy promotions McDonald’s has ever released.
The collaboration allows Disney fans to access dozens of figures, including the obvious Mickey and Minnie Mouse, classic icons like Snow White and Tinker Bell, Star Wars' Kylo Ren, Marvel heroes such as Iron Man, Pixar characters like Dory, and the Sleeping Beauty Castle. Even secondary characters and park-specific icons, like the Haunted Mansion’s Hat Box Ghost and Chip and Dale in a Mad Tea Party teacup, are included.
Fans can also scan a QR code included with the Happy Meal to virtually explore certain parts of the Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. This digital interactive experience features maze-style adventures with collectible festive in-game items and characters.
What People Are Saying
In its official statement, McDonald’s said: “Every Happy Meal is serving up not one, but TWO Disney, Pixar, Marvel, or Star Wars characters. That’s 70 toys (35 pairings to collect!) to unbox to honor 70 years of Disneyland® Resort fun.”
On X, McDonald’s also posted: “70 toys for 70 years of the @Disneyland Resort. Get 2 with every Disneyland Resort Happy Meal.”
What Happens Next
The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration Happy Meal will be available only while supplies last. Given the popularity of previous collaborations, high demand and fast sell-outs are expected, so fans are encouraged to participate early to maximize their chances of securing the full set of 70 toys.
