Glen Powell's character is determined to murder his family in the first trailer for the dark comedy How to Make a Killing. Originally titled Huntington, the A24 movie stars Powell as Beckett Redfellow, who was disowned at birth by his incredibly wealthy family. Now, he is willing to kill as many relatives as necessary in order to claim his inheritance.
The How to Make a Killing trailer opens with Beckett imagining his life as one of the wealthy elite and explaining to the audience that despite being disowned, he's always believed he would fully inherit the family inheritance one day.
When Margaret Qualley's character jokingly tells Beckett to "call me when you've killed them all," referring to his family, he gets the idea to eliminate the seven relatives standing in the way of him receiving the inheritance. He begins by politely introducing himself before a relative is pulled off a yacht and into the ocean.
Things escalate from there with gunshots, handcuffs, and Redfellow aiming a bow and arrow. The footage ends with Qualley's character telling Beckett, "Until then, I'm sure you'll make a killing." Watch the trailer below:
How to Make a Killing comes to theaters on February 20, 2026. In addition to Powell and Qualley, the cast includes Jessica Henwick, Bill Camp, Zach Woods, Topher Grace, and Ed Harris. The film is directed and written by John Patton Ford.
The dark comedy continues to diversify Glen Powell's array of movies and shows. The How to Make a Killing trailer comes less than two weeks after his starring role in Edgar Wright's adaptation of the dystopian Stephen King novel The Running Man. Powell also starred in and co-created Hulu's sports comedy series Chad Powers, whose season 1 finale was released on October 28.
Powell's previous credits include Netflix's dark comedy film Hit Man, where he pretends to be a hitman. He now expands on his experience in the genre with this new A24 movie, although this time, his character ends up being genuinely deadly.
As for Margaret Qualley's past movies and shows, she is a two-time Emmy nominee for her performances in Fosse/Verdon and Maid. She has also received acclaim for her performances in many other projects, including HBO's The Leftovers and the body horror film The Substance.
Powell and Qualley now bring their talents to How to Make a Killing, which has the potential to be one of A24's biggest hits in 2026.
