PlayStation Plus has had a great run this year, but as 2025 comes to a close, subscribers are already getting pumped for one new game coming to the service on December 8. As PS Plus reveals its December games, one title in particular seemed to have caught people's attention already.

As seen on Reddit, PlayStation fans are already excited for the upcoming day-one release game. "I've been keeping my eye on this, it looks fascinating," said user YorkieLon. "Nice!" and "I'll check it out" were sentiments echoed by multiple users in the comments, who are all happy to see Skate Story coming to PlayStation soon.

PlayStation Plus' First December Game Has Been Confirmed

Skate Story Space

Skate Story has been confirmed as a day-one release on the PlayStation Plus Games Catalog. Teasing "celestial skateboarding," Skate Story is quite a bit different from typical skateboarding games. Forget skateboarding sims, even arcade skateboarding games like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series were rarely ever this surreal.

In Skate Story, players are "made of glass and pain," and you're exposed to a variety of tricks as you attempt to take down bosses and complete challenges. A hands-on preview via PlayStation Blog showcases the kind of gameplay and story you can expect when Skate Story releases. It looks really cool, and a lot of PlayStation fans agree.

Skate Story Looks Incredible

It's not just on Reddit that people are getting hyped for Skate Story. Under the game's official trailer on YouTube, comments are singing its praises. "This is one of the most creative looking games I’ve seen in recent years," said TheTroyStreet, with over 900 likes agreeing. "The perfect videogame trailer doesn't exi..." joked naysgameopinions.

"man i love the vibe of this game," said Bartdegans in a comment that's gotten nearly 300 likes. "One of the best trailers i've seen. This looks so promising," said mgsRyder. Countless other comments echo these kinds of praises, which is a good sign for the game.

It's been a bit of a resurgent age for skateboarding video games this year, with both THPS 3+4 and Skate 4 early access garnering a lot of attention. Despite both those series having loyal fanbases, the excitement for Skate Story is palpable. And since it's a day-one release on PlayStation Plus, a lot of fans are already marking their calendars for its arrival on December 8, 2025.
