AtkinsRéalis Group has strengthened its presence in Australia with the acquisition of ADG Capital, an engineering consultancy services company focused on structural and civil engineering, construction services, and digital advisory.

The transaction will add approximately 250 ADG professionals to AtkinsRéalis’ existing workforce.

AtkinsRéalis stated that this move increases its capacity to work on projects related to infrastructure and other key sectors such as defence and power and renewables in Australia, where there are several investment initiatives underway.

ADG CEO Marco Ficca said: “Joining AtkinsRéalis builds on the momentum we've created at ADG and takes it further. Our people will have the opportunity to work on larger, diverse and more complex projects whilst growing their expertise across Australia and globally.

“Our clients will gain access to deeper technical capabilities and expanded resources, delivered with the same collaborative approach and relationship focus that's always defined us.”

The integration of ADG’s local expertise with AtkinsRéalis’ international resources aims to broaden the range of services available to clients of both companies.

AtkinsRéalis president and CEO Ian Edwards said: “This is an exciting moment for our business in Australia, as we continue our 'Delivering Excellence, Driving Growth' strategy. We are intent on building a business in Australia that feels different to work in and partner with - and this acquisition is a step forward on this journey.

“Combining ADG's responsiveness and client focus in local project delivery with our global platform will support the next phase of growth in our AMEA [Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa] region. We warmly welcome our new colleagues from ADG and look forward to building our future together.”

ADG’s portfolio includes projects in various locations in Australia such as Howard Smith Wharves in Brisbane, Quay Quarter Tower in Sydney, transportation infrastructure with MELConnx in Perth, Hobart International Airport, renewable energy work across New South Wales, and facilities for the defence and health sectors in Darwin.

AtkinsRéalis AMEA president Richard Robinson said: “The ADG team brings a depth of local knowledge, a closely aligned culture and an agile delivery model that complements our existing presence in Australia.

“Together, we will be strengthening our position to meet the complex challenges of major infrastructure projects and help shape the future of Australia's cities and regions.”

Last month, AtkinsRéalis was appointed by Shomoul Holding to serve as cost consultant for the second phase of The Avenues - Riyadh project.
