The Denver Broncos have a dominant defense, but the offense has been questionable throughout the season. As a result, the Broncos were listed as a top potential landing spot for veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen by Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports.

Thielen was waived by the Minnesota Viking, at his request, and now the two-time Pro Bowler will be looking for a new home to close out his NFL career as he plans to retire after the current campaign.

It remains to be seen how much gas Thielen, 35, has left in the tank, but Benjamin thinks he might be worth a flyer for Denver.

“Thielen probably wouldn't rewrite the script at this juncture, but his sturdy fundamentals would likely make for a seamless fit in [Sean]Payton's attack, giving [Bo] Nix another safety valve. The Broncos clearly offer the postseason path Thielen is seeking after improving to 10-2 on Sunday night.”

The Broncos have won nine straight games, so what they’re doing is clearly working, but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t benefit from adding an additional weapon for Nix. Thielen has ample experience and that can be very valuable in and of itself, especially for a relatively inexperienced team like Denver. If he signed with the Broncos, Thielen would get to end his career with a contending team.

Plus, it’s not like adding Thielen would require a long-term commitment on Denver’s part. Since he plans to retire after the season, the Broncos could add him for the remainder of the season, and if the pairing didn’t work out, they could part ways with him after the season.

In addition to the Broncos, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills were also listed as potential landing spots for Thielen by Benjamin.
