North Yorkshire Police is investigating the tragic death of a teenage girl who was a passenger in a minibus that was in a collision with a car at Tadcaster.
A driver has been arrested after a teenager was killed in a horror minibus crash in North Yorkshire.
Police are investigating the tragic death of the gitl who was a passenger in when their vehicle crashed into a car in Tadcaster at around 12.28pm on Monday.
Witnesses of the crash on Toulston Lane at the junction with Rudgate close to Tadcaster Grammar School are being asked to come forward.
The white Mercedes Sprinter minibus was heading towards Sherburn and the light-coloured Hyundai i10 car entered Toulston Lane from Rudgate.
The minibus was carrying nine passengers aged 16 to 18, North Yorkshire Police said.

The victim was declared dead at the scene.
Another teenage girl was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
The other passengers, and the driver of the minibus, have received treatment for minor injuries.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 40-year-old woman, has been arrested. Tadcaster Grammar School will remain closed as police as police enquiries continue.
Sir Alec Shelbrooke MP for Wetherby & Easingwold added: ‘Desperately sad to hear that a young girl has died as a result of this road traffic accident in Tadcaster earlier today.
‘The thoughts of prayers of our community are with the families of those affected.’
A police spokesman said: ‘We are appealing for any witnesses or motorists with relevant dashcam footage to come forward as soon as possible.
‘We are not in a position to identify the girl at this time. We are continuing to support her family and further updates will be issued when appropriate to do so.’

A Tadcaster town council spokesman added: ‘Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to all involved in this terrible tragedy, and their families.
‘Please note that Tadcaster Grammar School will be closed tomorrow, and this section of Toulston Lane will remain closed while the police investigations take place, and the road is made safe.’
