The Golden State Warriors are cutting veteran forward Jackson Rowe, a two-way signing this season, according to a new report from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Scotto reports that Golden State will now bring in 24-year-old rookie point guard LJ Cryer to supplant Rowe and occupy another two-way slot.

The Warriors have gone a middling 11-10 to kick off their 2025-26 season, good for just the No. 8 seed in the talented Western Conference. It's clear that Golden State will need to add some center help to shore up its frontcourt size if the club hopes to compete against all of the West's top six teams: the 20-1 Oklahoma City Thunder, the 15-4 Los Angeles Lakers, the 14-5 Denver Nuggets, the 13-4 Houston Rockets, the 13-6 San Antonio Spurs, and the 12-8 Minnesota Timberwolves.

Oklahoma City, Denver and Houston appear to have the depth, size and youth to create some separation between themselves and the rest of the conference (especially if Houston replaces injured point guard Fred VanVleet in a trade). But the Warriors' top talent — 35-year-old-plus future Hall of Famers Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green, all still performing at a high level despite their age — is good enough to stand with the best in the West. They just need some help elsewhere.

Two-way players are toggled between a squad's G League affiliate and its NBA team proper, and are permitted to play up to 50 regular season games before they must be converted to a standard 15-man roster contract. Two-way signings are not allowed to play for a team during the postseason.
