The time has come again to vote for The Star Press East Central Indiana high school Athlete of the Week. brought to you by IU Health.

The reigning Athlete of the Week is Olivia Murphy of Blackford girls basketball. Murphy led Blackford to a 45-37 win over Muncie Central on Saturday, Nov. 22, with 17 points, three rebounds and two assists. She received 47,398 out of 91,976 votes cast (51.53%).

This week's poll brings us 10 more nominees who had standout performances during the week of Nov. 24-29. To submit nominees for future polls, please email names and any notable statistics or accomplishments to [email protected].

  • Jillian Barr, Delta girls basketball: Barr led Delta with 19 points, nine rebounds, one assist, four steals and three blocks in a 61-29 win over archrival Yorktown on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

  • Gabbi Patrick, Shenandoah girls basketball: Patrick posted a triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 11 steals in Shenandoah's 63-25 victory over Frankton on Friday, Nov. 28. She also posted 17 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, four steals and two blocks in an 85-42 loss to Eastern Hancock on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

  • Kei'Maija Hickey, Muncie Central girls basketball: Hickey led the Bearcats to their first victory of the season with 19 points in a 50-48 win over Richmond on Saturday, Nov. 29.

  • Amarian Leggett, Blackford boys basketball: Leggett helped the Bruins get off to a hot start to the 2025-26 season with 28 points in a 58-36 win over Southwood on Tuesday, Nov. 25, and 29 points in a 48-39 win over Bluffton on Saturday, Nov. 29.

  • Jaxson Johnson, Muncie Central boys basketball: Johnson led Central to a 73-59 win over Wapahani with 24 points, three rebounds and a steal in the Bearcats' season opener on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

  • Ta'Shaun Beatty, Monroe Central boys basketball: Beatty led Monroe Central to a season-opening 57-46 victory over Winchester with 24 points, nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

  • Luke Woodyard, Wes-Del boys basketball: Woodyard led Wes-Del to a 51-30 victory over Cambridge City Lincoln in the Warriors' season opener with 16 points and two assists on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

  • Jarrett Helman, Shenandoah boys basketball: Helman dropped 20 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals as Shenandoah opened its season with an 83-46 victory over Daleville on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
