They have already placed starting left tackle Will Campbell on injured reserve. However, they will also be without their starting left guard, Jared Wilson, who is dealing with an ankle injury.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementWilson suffered a high ankle sprain in the team's victory over the Cincinnati Bengals last week. It was a major blow to the offense to lose both Wilson and Campbell in the same game.
With Wilson sidelined, veteran interior offensive lineman Ben Brown is expected to take his place as the starter. Brown started in 10 games last season for the Patriots at center.
It creates a situation where the Patriots are going into a game with the left side of their offensive line being completely different. That could create serious issues for the offense in Monday's game against the Giants.
