One of the best rivalry games in college football is just a few days away as Michigan gets set to host Ohio State at the Big House in Ann Arbor on Saturday, Nov. 29.
Ahead of the game all eyes are on star wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate who both missed the Buckeyes' 42-9 rout of Rutgers over the weekend. Head coach Ryan Day listed both players as "day-to-day" following the win over the Scarlet Knights and offered a brief update on the pair before Saturday's game.
"They are. They're going to continue to get some rest tonight, had a good day of rehab. So we’ll wake up in the morning and see how they're doing, but nobody wants to play more than those two guys," Day said when asked if Smith and Tate were trending in the right direction.

While Day suggested both are on the mend, Smith took a more declarative approach when asked about his availability for The Game. During a recent podcast appearance the star wide receiver made it clear he'll be on the field.
"I'm feeling good. You know, dealing with a little situation injury wise, but I should be good to go Saturday," Smith said definitively.

Smith is one of the best wide receiver prospects in recent memory and would likely be the first wideout selected in the 2026 NFL draft if he were eligible. He's racked up 69 receptions for 902 yards and 10 touchdowns, all of which lead Ohio State.
