According to a social media post by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) on Monday, all Connecticut high school football quarterfinal matchups will be moved from Tuesday, Dec. 2 to Wednesday, Dec. 3 due to expected inclement weather entering the region.
Based on the current forecast, all CIAC quarter-final tournament games will be moved to Wednesday, December 3 at 6:30. All CIAC semi-final games will be moved to Monday, December 8 at 6:30. No championship games will be scheduled on Friday, December 12.
Due to pushing back the start of the CIAC Connecticut high school football playoffs for Tuesday, the association is moving all state semifinal games from Friday, Dec. 5 to Monday, Dec. 8. The CIAC was also supposed to have two state championship games take place on the date of Dec. 12, but has unscheduled those games and moved them to Dec. 13.

“Tuesday’s winter storm will be a messy one, with any morning snow in the Hartford area changing to sleet and rain as warmer air surges in from the south,” Hearst Connecticut Media meteorologist Dan Amarante said via a CTInsider report. “Meanwhile, schools in Litchfield County could see several hours of moderate snowfall, potentially becoming the first plowable snowfall of the season in the higher elevations.”
In all, there’s supposed to be 26 Connecticut high school football playoff games taking place on Wednesday evening.
