The nominees for U.S. Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year have been announced

It’s that time of year again, and with only one month left in 2025, U.S. Soccer has announced the nominees for the End of Year Awards.

Among the categories, Female Player of the Year and Young Female Player of the Year are included. Fans can vote here, which will represent 15% of the total. Who else is voting? National Team players who earned a cap in the current year, professional league coaches, media and the U.S. Soccer Board of Directors and the Athletes’ Council.

A total of five nominees comprise the list for Female Player of the Year and they are: defender Emily Fox, midfielders Sam Coffey and Rose Lavelle, forwards Alyssa Thompson and Catarina Macario. For the Young Female Player of the Year award, the nominees are: defenders Jordyn Bugg, Pearl Cecil, and Lilly Reale, and forwards Micayla Johnson and Riley Tiernan.

Although the award will take into account how the nominees performed with their clubs, their performance with the national team will receive greater emphasis. For a deeper knowledge of the nominees, their bios can be read here.

Voting is now open and concludes on Friday, Dec. 12 at 11:59 p.m. ET. The winners will be announced in January 2025.
