Through the 2024-25 season, the Los Angeles Lakers have had a total of 506 players suit up for them, going back to their days in Minneapolis. Some were forgettable, some were serviceable, some were good and a select few were flat-out legendary.

During the Lakers' 80th season of existence (they were founded back in 1946 as the Detroit Gems in the National Basketball League), LeBron Wire is taking a look at each player who has worn their jersey, whether it has been a purple and gold one or the ones they donned back in the Midwest during their early years.

After three stellar years at West Virginia University, Ron Williams, a 6-foot-3 point guard, was taken by the San Francisco Warriors with the No. 9 pick in the 1968 NBA Draft. After spending his first seven seasons in the league with the Warriors and Milwaukee Bucks, he was traded to the Lakers.

He spent one season, which was his final one in the NBA, with the Lakers and averaged 4.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 17.6 minutes a game. For his career, he put up 9.3 points and 3.5 assists in 22.2 minutes per game.

Williams later went on to become an assistant coach in the college ranks, and this second career of his included a stint at the University of California, Berkeley.
