Prime Video's upcoming Tomb Raider series has cast its second pivotal role. After months of speculation about who would star in the adaptation from creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge, it was announced in November 2024 that Game of Thrones alum Sophie Turner would be playing the iconic Lara Croft. But, for more than a year, there hasn't been much news on who would join her.
That now looks to change, with Variety reporting that Martin Bobb-Semple is joining Prime Video's Tomb Raider. Although character details are under wraps, Bobb-Semple will be a series regular and is said to be playing a major character. News of Bobb-Semple's addition to the show comes with the note that filming is expected to begin in January.
Bobb-Semple recently portrayed Orlando Johnson on All American: Homecoming, moving from a recurring presence to a lead during his time on the All American spinoff. He was also part of Peacock's One of Us Is Lying cast, playing Evan Neiman in both seasons of the teen thriller. Also recognized for his role as Alex on Netflix's Free Rein, Bobb-Semple began performing in London’s West End and trained at Identity School of Acting.

Waller-Bridge, who is best known for creating the widely acclaimed series Fleabag, will serve as the creator, writer, and executive producer of the upcoming Tomb Raider. It has been in development at Prime Video since early 2023, receiving an official pick-up in May 2024. Chad Hodge, who created the sci-fi thriller Wayward Pines, is an executive producer and co-showrunner with Waller-Bridge. Jonathan van Tulleken, meanwhile, will also serve as executive producer and direct episodes of the highly anticipated project.
