Bishop Kenny's Taylor Lawhon is the new Florida Times-Union Girls Athlete of the Week for Northeast Florida high school sports for the 2025-26 season, covering the week of Nov. 17-22, 2025 in the Jacksonville area.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe junior ran 18:26 at the Florida High School Athletic Association girls cross country championship meet in Tallahassee, slicing seven seconds from her previous personal best. She placed second in Class 2A and helped Bishop Kenny repeat as state team champions.
She placed first in a vote of top Northeast Florida performers that included Morgan Cremen (Beachside basketball), Eva Delaney (Creekside cross country), Ryan Donaldson (Suwannee golf), Samantha Gore (Ponte Vedra cross country), Imani Henderson (Ed White basketball), Sara Palmer (Providence cross country) and Leah Shields (Columbia soccer).

Bella Rutherford, Mandarin soccer
The senior scored five goals and two assists in the Mustangs' wins over Fletcher and Englewood.
Lola Scardelli, St. Joseph basketball
The freshman had a double-double (19 points, 10 assists) in the Flashes' win over Washington Classical.
