The nominees for The Courier Journal boys cross-country runner of the year delivered on courses throughout the commonwealth in the fall.

Voting is underway for The Courier Journal's boys cross-country runner of the year. The poll closes at 6 p.m. Thursday, and the winner will be announced Friday.

Here are the nominees:

James Gurley, Collegiate

Senior won the Class A, Region Three meet and also captured the Class A state championship with a time of 15 minutes, 51.44 seconds.

Henry Kiser, Male

Senior was the Class 3A, Region Three runner-up and finished 10th in the Class 3A state meet with a time of 15:57.75.

Thomas Mathews, Walden

Junior was the Class A, Region Three runner-up and finished fifth in the Class A state meet with a time of 16:36.14.

Nick Sanders, St. Xavier

Senior was the Class 3A, Region Three champion and finished third in the Class 3A state meet with a time of 15:37.46.

Ayden Taylor, Trinity

Junior was the Class 3A, Region Four runner-up and placed eighth in the Class 3A state meet with a time of 15:53.40.
