The Football Association (FA) will take disciplinary action against Arsenal after what happened in the Gunners’ 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Sunday. The Emirates Stadium club came from behind to secure a hard-fought draw despite playing the second-half against ten men. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta watched helplessly on the sidelines as the North Londoners struggled to break down a resolute Chelsea defence.

The visitors ended up picking up six yellow cards against the Blues, with Martin Zubimendi, Cristhian Mosquera, Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie getting booked in the first-half. Myles Lewis-Skelly and Viktor Gyokeres came on for Arsenal in the second-half and were also booked. As stated in the FA handbook for the season, any team that accumulates six or more yellow cards in one game is subject to a £25,000 fine. The Association will take disciplinary action against a club if six or more of the club’s players or technical area occupants are either cautioned or sent off.

The fine is doubled if they do it again and so on. The last Arsenal were hit with the same fine was in February 2024 when they got six yellow cards in a 3-1 win over Liverpool at home. The Gunners are back in action on Wednesday when they host Brentford before a trip to Aston Villa on Saturday.
