It has been more than nine months since we learned that Kellen Moore would leave the Philadelphia Eagles to accept the job as New Orleans Saints head coach, more than enough time to have a baby. Unfortunately, Coach Moore's team's transformation will be delayed by at least one more season than he had hoped.

During the transition, he even took a few other Eagles assistants with him. Doug Nussmeier became his offensive coordinator. T.J. Paganetti accepted the job of run game coordinator.

With 12 Saints games in the books, they are 2-10. That will officially eliminate them from postseason contention. Meanwhile, there isn't an Eagles fan who doesn't, at times, wonder how life might have turned out had he elected to stay at home.

No one can blame a man for wanting to spread his wings and venture out on his own. Other former Eagles did the same this offseason, and it took them only 13 regular-season weeks.

Darius Slay's game-day designation is among the intriguing headlines for former Eagles on Sunday.

From one tough season to another. It's been a tough go for Carson Wentz, Javon Hargrave, and Isaiah Rodgers with the Minnesota Vikings. It appears there won't be any 'Skol' chants during the postseason. Wentz is on the Vikings' injured reserve. Hargrave and Rodgers are enduring a four-win season. The Vikings are in the NFC North's cellar and appear to be the lone team from the division that won't make the playoffs.

Mekhi Becton isn't enjoying his time with the Los Angeles Chargers. He's being pulled from games. He got his payday, but that signing has been a massive disappointment for Jim Harbaugh's team.

This is the big one, though. Darius Slay was a healthy scratch for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Slay hates criticism of any kind. He always has, but lovingly and respectfully, it can't be ignored. His best days of football are long behind him.

Oh well... Everyone can't be Kenneth Gainwell. Has anyone noticed the phenomenal job he is doing with the Pittsburgh Steelers? Let that be the evidence of something that should have been stated a while ago. Yeah, he fumbled too much, but he was a much better player than he was given credit for being in Philadelphia.
