Michigan football got a boost of good news after the loss to Ohio State, with 2026 Waco (Tx.) Connally four-star cornerback Jamarion Vincent flipping from Baylor to the Wolverines. However, it wasn't the only good news the maize and blue would receive on Sunday.

The 2026 class is nearly full, with perhaps a flip or two still in the mix. And with that, eyes will shift to 2027, where the Wolverines already had three commitments. Key word: had.

Because on Sunday, Michigan managed to finally secure an in-state prospect and frequent visitor in 2027 Muskegon (Mich.) four-star edge rusher Recarder Kitchen.

Kitchen is the fourth pledge in the 2027 class and is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 110 prospect in the nation, the No. 17 edge rusher, and the second-best player in the state of Michigan.

He chose Michigan over offers from Michigan State, North Carolina, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, Wisconsin, and others.

Here is Michigan's full commitment list in 2027:

  • Marion (Mass.) Tabor Academy four-star QB Peter Bourque (No. 85 overall, 6th QB, 1st in Massachusetts)

  • Muskegon (Mich.) four-star EDGE Recarder Kitchen (No. 110 overall, 17th EDGE, 2nd in Michigan)

  • Southlake (Tx.) Carroll three-star IOL Tristan Dare (No. 521 overall, 33rd IOL, 72nd in Texas)

  • Saline (Mich.) three-star IOL Louis Esposito (No. 779 overall, 45th IOL, 12th in Michigan)
