LSU football tabbed Lane Kiffin to be the program's next head coach. Kiffin arrives after spending six years as Ole Miss's head coach. In that time, he won 55 games, leaving Oxford as the third most winning head coach in program history.
Kiffin has the Rebels knocking on the door of the College Football Playoff, but with Kiffin heading to Baton Rouge, Ole Miss promoted Pete Golding to lead the Rebels in the postseason and beyond.

When Brian Kelly accepted the LSU job in 2021, few staffers followed from Notre Dame. Kelly let go most of LSU's previous staff, too. Kiffin will take a different approach, which should lead to more staff cohesion in year one.

GM Billy Glasscock was a key member of Ole Miss's recruiting operation the last two years -- working the transfer portal and the high school level. Glasscock's arrival in Baton Rouge will raise questions about Austin Thomas' future, LSU's current general manager.

Ole Miss OC Charlie Weiss Jr following Kiffin to LSU
Reports indicated that Charlie Weis expected to join LSU's staff and that was later confirmed with video of Weis boarding the plane to Baton Rouge.
Weis, 32, is a longtime Kiffin assistant. Weis was on Kiffin's FAU staff from 2018-19 and reunited with Kiffin at Ole Miss in 2022. Weis also worked under Kiffin at Alabama from 2015-16. Kiffin is the lead offensive mind, but Weis is considered a rising star and plays a heavy role in the offense.

McDonald was listed as Ole Miss's passing game coordinator, too.
Kiffin bringing strength and conditioning coach Nick Savage
A strength and conditioning coach is always among a new head coach's most critical hires. Kiffin will have a familiar face leading the strength program, bringing Nick Savage from Ole Miss. Savage joined Ole Miss in 2022. Before Ole Miss, Savage held the same position at Florida.
